STONE PAPER - INSIGHT
Stone Paper is a next-generation paper with unique characteristics.
Stone Paper is made of 80% stone, i.e., calcium carbonate, with a small amount (20%) of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) used as a non-toxic binder.
This type of paper, in addition to being extremely tear-resistant with a pleasant velvety finish, does not reflect light and is also waterproof, grease-resistant, and washable.
Stone Paper is 100% water-repellent. Liquids, including oil, do not alter its structure as it does not contain wood fibers, which absorb liquids, even small drops, and deform the product, destroying traditional paper in seconds. This is why it is so durable.
No chemical treatments are required. Traditional paper production requires the use of many chemicals, both to whiten the natural fibers and to prevent light from fading the paper, as happens with newspapers, for example. No chemicals are needed to produce Stone Paper: the materials used are already white at the source, and the high-density polyethylene is colorless.
Stone Paper combines the advantages of paper, as it is easily printable, with the advantages of biodegradable plastic, as it decomposes without polluting the environment through the influence of wind and climate, within 9-12 months.
WATER CONSUMPTION = ZERO
The Stone Paper production process uses no water.
